Nearly 1,100 babies were born in Uzbekistan on New Year’s Day
As of 5:00 pm on January 1, 2026, a total of 1,094 babies were born in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health reported.

Of the newborns, 539 were boys and 555 were girls. The most births were recorded in Fergana region, with 138 babies.

By region, the next highest numbers were in Surkhandarya (135), Samarkand (125), Kashkadarya (121), and Namangan (110). The fewest births were in Sirdarya region, with only 19 babies.

Interestingly, among the newborns, there were 17 sets of multiples, totaling 37 children. This includes 30 twins, 3 triplets, and 4 quadruplets.
