In Uzbekistan, those who expose corruption will be granted a protection order

An important innovation is being introduced into Uzbekistan’s anti-corruption system. From now on, citizens who report corruption-related crimes will be provided with a special protection order by the state. This procedure will come into force on July 1, 2026, based on a presidential decree, the Ministry of Justice reported.
According to the new decision, a special badge titled “For Contribution to the Fight Against Corruption” is also being established to encourage individuals who have contributed to exposing corruption. This measure is intended to support integrity and an active civic stance.
In addition, under the decree, a digital compliance information and software complex will be launched on a trial basis. It will enable rapid data exchange among participants of the anti-corruption cluster, digitalize the activities of internal anti-corruption control units through the E-Compliance module, and introduce a system of mandatory instructions and recommendations for state bodies and organizations aimed at preventing and eliminating violations of the law.
Most importantly, individuals who report corruption offenses will be protected under labor legislation from any form of persecution, pressure, or unfair treatment. This, in turn, encourages citizens not to remain indifferent to violations of the law.
According to experts, these measures are expected to increase transparency in the country, strengthen a fair environment in society, and take the effectiveness of the fight against corruption to a new level.
