The government adopted a new decision aimed at strengthening road traffic safety and digitalizing the sector According to the Ministry of Justice the Administrative practice module of the information system of the Road traffic safety service of the Public security department will be interconnected with the information systems of the relevant ministries and agencies
According to the decision starting from February 1 2026 it is предусмотрено to introduce state registration number plates of a separate series for certain categories of vehicles In particular in a separate series will be registered cargo vehicles with a total weight together with the load of more than 44 tons special equipment used in mines shafts and quarries non route taxis belonging to legal entities as well as antique auto moto transport
One of the biggest новшества relates to vehicles produced more than 50 years ago Now the use of such vehicles as well as their re registration is prohibited It is established that the auto moto transport of this category will be removed from the state register
At the same time the requirement to indicate the owner’s address in the certificate of registration of an auto moto transport is canceled This practice is expected to reduce paperwork and simplify data exchange
Another important aspect is that when registering transport with the state a system will be put in place to obtain some required documents from authorized bodies through interagency electronic cooperation In particular
the purchase and sale contract of the auto moto transport
auction protocols provided by the Joint Stock Company for organizing electronic online auctions
electronic accounting information on vehicles produced by enterprises with a state share
information about the owner of the vehicle
Earlier it was also reported that in Uzbekistan city transport would be adapted for persons with disabilities and passengers with children It was noted that carriers would be obliged to equip vehicle cabins in a way that ensures safe boarding and disembarking of passengers
In addition the issue of restricting taxi activity on vehicles used for more than 15 years in the cities of the republic is also on the agenda It is once again reminded that the technical condition and equipment of non route taxis must fully comply with legal requirements for ensuring road traffic safety
