President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Ankara with his wife Ziroat Mirziyoyeva as part of an official visit. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his wife met the distinguished guests at Esenboğa International Airport.
At the welcoming ceremony, the flags of the two countries were raised, and a guard of honor was lined up. The Heads of State and First Ladies held a brief conversation and exchanged views on the further expansion of the Uzbek-Turkish relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.
The main point of the visit program is the fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council at the highest level on January 29 at the Oqsaroy residence in Ankara. During the negotiations, it is planned to discuss in detail issues of expanding practical cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport, energy, cultural, humanitarian spheres and other priority areas.
Also, within the framework of the events in Ankara, it is planned to hold ceremonies dedicated to the opening of the "Uzbekistan" residential complex in the Arsuz district of the Hatay region and the start of construction of an Uzbek school in Istanbul.
