From March 9, the cold will return and rain and snow will begin

A sharp change in weather is expected in Uzbekistan next week. According to forecasts by Uzhydromet, cold and humid air masses will enter the territory of the republic from March 9 to March 12. Therefore, precipitation is expected in many regions, and in some places rain may turn into snow.

According to meteorologists, from March 9 to March 11 it will rain from time to time across the country, and in some areas precipitation mixed with snow is possible. In foothill and mountainous areas, precipitation may intensify, and in some places there may be a risk of mudflows.

Wind is also expected to strengthen. In some regions its speed may reach 15–20 meters per second, and in certain places it may increase to 22–25 meters per second. This will likely make the cold feel even stronger.

The coldest period is expected on March 10–12. In the northern part of the republic, nighttime temperatures may drop to 7–10 degrees below zero, while during the day temperatures may fall to 0–3 degrees below zero. In the remaining regions, on March 11–12 nighttime temperatures may drop to 0–3 degrees below zero, and during the day it is forecast to be around 2–5 degrees above zero. Rainy and sharply cooler weather is also expected in Tashkent between March 9 and March 12.

In short, spring will take a short pause: umbrellas, warmer clothing, and precautionary measures will again be necessary. Especially residents of mountainous and foothill areas or those planning to travel are advised to closely follow weather warnings.
