Rain expected in Uzbekistan over the weekend

The first days of May in Uzbekistan will begin with spring-like but unstable weather. This was reported by Uzhydromet forecasters.

According to the forecasts, precipitation is expected across most of the country, with thunderstorms possible in some areas. No rain is expected only in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Khorezm region, and the northern parts of the Navoi region.

Forecasters noted that precipitation will decrease on May 2–3, and short-term rain may be observed mainly in certain areas.

Temperature indicators will also drop slightly. In particular, while daytime temperatures on May 1 will be around 27–30 degrees, they are expected to fall to 22–25 degrees over the weekend. In the northwestern regions, temperatures are forecast to be 20–23 degrees on Friday, rising again to 27–30 degrees by Sunday.

In foothill and mountainous areas, intermittent rain is expected from May 1–3, with strong thunderstorms possible in some locations. The risk of flash floods and mudslides cannot be ruled out.

In Tashkent, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in the second half of the day on Friday. Temperatures will be 28–30 degrees. Intermittent rain is also possible on Saturday and Sunday. During these days, temperatures are expected to be 13–15 degrees at night and around 22–24 degrees during the day.

Experts are urging the public to be prepared for the changing weather conditions and to take necessary precautions.
