In Tashkent, the next round of negotiations took place between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan regarding a major strategic initiative in the energy sector — the "Kambar-Ata HPP-1" project. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Energy of both countries, as well as specialists from relevant government agencies and industry organizations.
During this dialogue, issues related to the development of the intergovernmental agreement draft and the coordination of its main provisions were discussed in detail. Representatives of the international financial institution, the World Bank, also participated in the process as observers, with special attention paid to ensuring the significance and transparency of the project.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutual dialogue and cooperation on the path to reaching an agreement. This means that the project implementation process is moving forward step by step.
"Kambar-Ata HPP-1" is considered one of the most important energy initiatives in Central Asia. It involves the construction of a modern hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 1880 megawatts on the Naryn River, located in Kyrgyzstan. This project will serve not only to increase the volume of electricity generation but also to ensure the efficient use of water resources and energy stability in the region.
At the same time, such large-scale infrastructure projects are expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and further accelerate regional integration processes.
