The Petronas twin towers were painted in the colors of the flag of Uzbekistan

In honor of the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Malaysia, the Petronas Twin Towers were illuminated in the colors of the Uzbek flag. This was reported by the Daryo newspaper.

It should be recalled that the leader of Uzbekistan will pay an official visit to Malaysia on February 4-5 at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

According to the program of the visit, high-level negotiations, a number of business and cultural events will be held in Kuala Lumpur. Bilateral talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, meetings with heads of leading Malaysian companies, a joint business forum and other events are planned.

The agenda of the upcoming high-level talks includes issues of further developing Uzbek-Malaysian friendly relations and expanding practical cooperation, including in trade, investments, innovations, technological cooperation, petrochemicals, electronics, "green" energy, "smart" agriculture, tourism and many other priority areas. Particular attention will be paid to intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The leaders will also consider current aspects of international politics and regional cooperation.

At the end of the summit, it is planned to adopt a joint statement and a set of significant agreements aimed at further developing the wide-ranging partnership between the two countries.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia paid an official visit to Uzbekistan on May 17-19, 2024. The President of Uzbekistan noted that this visit at the highest level was the first in 16 years and opened a new era in the history of bilateral relations. The talks discussed issues of further expanding friendly and multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, with special attention paid to practical cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

On May 29, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was successfully held in Putrajaya. The Uzbek-Malaysian Business Council was established.

In January, in honor of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the world's tallest building in Dubai, the Burj Khalifa, was decorated with the colors of the Uzbek flag.
