
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated the people of the country on Defender of the Fatherland Day.
“Dear friends, colleagues! I sincerely congratulate you on Defender of the Fatherland Day. On this blessed day, I congratulate our dear veterans, personnel and civil servants of the Russian Armed Forces. Every soldier and officer who has been tested and tested on the battlefields is valuable to us. I would like to express my special gratitude to the participants of special military operations. Today, risking their lives, they are courageously defending the Motherland, national interests and the future of Russia. You are the heroes of today,” the head of state said.
Putin noted that 2025 has been declared the Year of Defenders of the Fatherland in Russia. This decision was made on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. The President recalled that this day reflects the universal love and respect for the army and navy, as well as for those who consider military service to be their profession and high duty.
The Russian leader also expressed gratitude to the participants of the special military operation for their courage and strong will.
“Despite the rapid changes in the world today, our strategic direction for strengthening and developing our Armed Forces remains unchanged. Further increasing the combat capabilities of the army and navy, strengthening their readiness is for us a guarantee of Russia's security and an important factor in its independent development,” Putin said.
In conclusion, the President wished the military success in their service and extended sincere wishes to the families of Russian soldiers and officers.
