Ukraine refused to pay 500 billion dollars in compensation to the USA
Ukraine has opposed the US demand to create a special fund of $500 billion to cover the country's expenses under the resource agreement. Bloomberg reported this, citing a source familiar with the negotiations.

According to him, Kiev estimates the real amount by about five times less - about $90 billion, and the lack of guarantees from the US on future military and financial assistance remains an obstacle.

"Initially, the US proposed to set the size of this fund at $500 billion, we reduced this proposal to $100 billion and sent it to Special Representative Keith Kellogg," a source in the Ukrainian publication New Voice said.

The American proposal is to create a special fund of $ 500 billion, to which Ukraine will contribute, and which will belong entirely to the United States. The agreement drawn up by Washington provides for Ukraine to give up half of the revenues from natural resources, including minerals, gas and oil, as well as ports and other infrastructure.

"This fund will be aimed at the long-term reconstruction and development of Ukraine, where the United States will have economic rights and the right to manage future investments," said US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant.

According to him, the United States does not claim ownership of physical assets in Ukraine, nor does it intend to turn this country into a large debtor.

We are asking for rare earth metals and oil, everything that we can get, said US President Donald Trump.
According to him, Washington has allocated about $ 350 billion to help Ukraine.
