The Russian Federation, which for the last three or four years was considered an opponent or enemy of America, the collective West, and an "enemy" in the documents, is now seen as the closest partner and, if necessary, friend for the Donald Trump administration.
Meetings were held in Saudi Arabia, Russian and American dialogue began. This was the first round, and there had been no such high-level meetings between officials of the two states in the last three or four years. Several high-ranking officials met, including the Russian Foreign Minister and the American Secretary of State. According to the results of the meeting, Putin got five things without giving anything.
