Trump won't restore aid to Ukraine until Zelensky resigns
The United States does not plan to resume military aid to Ukraine until Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky resigns, Bild reported.

According to the publication, former US President and 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump is blackmailing Zelensky with weapons. He is demanding that new presidential elections be held in Ukraine. This demand could exacerbate relations between the United States and Ukraine.

Meetings with Zelensky's opponents

Earlier, there were reports that American officials met with Zelensky's political opponents, Yulia Tymoshenko and Petro Poroshenko, to discuss possible elections in Ukraine. This increases the likelihood of Zelensky's removal from power.

Political analyst Thomas Yeager believes that Trump also wants to settle scores with Zelensky over the 2020 Hunter Biden scandal. During this period, Zelensky did not provide Trump with information that would discredit Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden. This has cooled relations between Trump and Zelensky.

Putin and Lavrov's position

According to Yeager, Russian President Vladimir Putin also finds it unpleasant for Zelensky to remain in power. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said three weeks ago during a meeting with US Senator Marco Rubio: "Nothing can be achieved with Zelensky."

This situation indicates that international pressure is growing against Zelensky. In addition, organizing new elections in Ukraine could be a technically and politically complicated process.

The dangers of holding elections in Ukraine

Yager noted that organizing new presidential elections in Ukraine could face serious problems. In his opinion, this process could create opportunities for Russia to interfere in Ukrainian internal affairs and manipulate the results.

At the same time, Zelensky has expressed his desire to remain in office and has no intention of yielding to any pressure. How relations between the United States and Ukraine will develop and what Zelensky's future will be remains unclear.
