Russia sees calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine as an attempt to give Ukrainian troops a buffer zone and time to re-arm, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov told journalist Pavel Zarubin.
“In such a situation (the call for a ceasefire - ed.) we can perceive this as an attempt to give some time for the Ukrainian military to re-arm and regroup,” Ushakov added.
According to him, the Ukrainian troops are going through difficult times, while the Russian army is advancing in all directions.
Ushakov also spoke about the preparation of contacts between Putin and Trump.
He said that a meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, as well as their telephone conversation, could be organized very soon. Ushakov added that at the moment he could not say "anything specific" about the details of the preparation of possible contacts. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
