US President Donald Trump has proposed transferring control of Ukraine's nuclear power plants to his country. This was announced by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Walsh.
The White House administration announced the proposal after a telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 19. Rubio and Walsh noted that Trump said that the most effective way to reliably protect Ukraine's energy infrastructure is to transfer nuclear power plants to US management.
Trump noted that the US can use its extensive experience in the field of electricity and utilities to provide significant assistance in commissioning nuclear power plants and ensuring their safety.
President Trump also pledged to work with Zelensky on the supply of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Zelensky described the conversation as “positive, meaningful, and sincere” and thanked the US president for the assistance.
The two leaders also discussed the situation in the Kursk region and agreed to further enhance information exchange between defense agencies in the face of changing military situations. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
