US offers $15 million reward for capture of Chinese man accused of selling technology to Iran

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has offered a $15 million reward for the capture of a Chinese national, Zhong, accused of illegally supplying military technology to Iran.
According to the FBI, the Chinese national supplied American electronic components to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Quds Force through China and Hong Kong. The United States has designated these organizations as foreign terrorist organizations, believing that they use these components to produce drones, ballistic missiles and other military equipment.
In addition, in 2024, the US Department of Justice charged three other Chinese nationals, in addition to Zhong, with illegally supplying components for military purposes to Iran.
The US State Department said in a statement that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been funding numerous terrorist groups around the world, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and pro-Iranian militias in Iraq. Some of the funding comes through the sale of military equipment, including drones.
For information, US President Donald Trump said that two weeks ago he sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, offering to start direct negotiations to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.
