This year may be among the five hottest on record. This was stated by the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, in an interview with the TASS agency.

"2025 is likely to be one of the five hottest years. This is due to the fact that in recent years the Earth has been warming up due to the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases. Unfortunately, this process has not yet stabilized. In addition, the ocean temperature remains very high, and its active layer (in contact with the atmosphere - TASS note) has warmed up well. This also affects the state of the atmosphere: heat transferred from the oceans contributes to an increase in air temperature," he said.
