Helicopter crashes into Hudson River shortly after takeoff in New York (video)

At least six people have died after a passenger helicopter crashed into the Hudson River in New York, the BBC reported. The incident occurred in the afternoon of Thursday, April 10, near Pier 40, near the city center.

According to the New York Police Department, the helicopter was carrying a pilot, two adult passengers and three children. They were identified as a family of tourists from Spain. It was reported that the helicopter was carrying Siemens Spain director Augustin Escobar, his wife and three daughters.
