The move comes amid escalating trade tensions following import tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Chinese government is currently developing a new export control system. According to NYT, the upcoming system could restrict shipments to certain firms, including U.S. military contractors.
On April 4, China limited the export of six heavy rare earth metals and magnets, now requiring special licenses. 90% of such magnets are produced in China.
