On the morning of Thursday, May 19, a terrible incident occurred at a market in the partially Russian-controlled city of Aleshki in the Kherson region. According to the governor appointed by the Russian side, Vladimir Saldo, the market was attacked by FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to official data, at least 7 people were killed and more than 20 were injured. Saldo noted that after the first wave of attacks, more drones were launched while the wounded were being helped. He assessed this as a "deliberate attempt to eliminate survivors."
Although videos and photographs distributed via Telegram show the scene of the incident, there is no clear information confirming the scale of the attack.
Sources from Agenstvo.Novosti and Conflict Intelligence Team said that the photos do not in any way confirm that the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian side. “It is not clear whether the attack was large-scale. It is impossible to draw firm conclusions about which side carried out the attack,” the publication says.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet issued any official statement on the tragedy.
The main question for now is: was this really an attack by the Ukrainian side or is it just another fabrication of information as part of the information war? Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
