Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons: "They are killing us with torture!"

Thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons are slowly dying due to ongoing torture, violence, and medical neglect. This was reported by the head of the Palestinian Prisoners Association, Abdullah al-Zegari, at the “European Alliance in Support of Palestinian Prisoners” conference held in Brussels.

"Currently, thousands of Palestinians in Israeli prisons are slowly saying goodbye to life due to brutal treatment and policies that violate human rights. Their health is in serious danger due to physical and psychological abuse," said al-Zegari.

According to him, information about the situation in Israeli prisons is confirmed by former prisoners who have been released. Lawyers who have met with the prisoners have also presented numerous pieces of evidence.

Abdullah al-Zegari stated that Palestinians in prisons are subjected to various forms of torture that degrade human dignity. These include starvation, denial of medical care that leads to serious health deterioration, and even cases of sexual violence.

"Prisons have essentially turned into torture centers. The health, dignity, and human rights of those held there are being systematically violated," said the head of the association in his speech.

At the same time, Abdullah al-Zegari called on the international community to pay serious attention to the condition of Palestinian prisoners and urged human rights organizations to take decisive action on the matter.

He emphasized that this situation must be properly addressed by world countries and that the rights of Palestinian prisoners must be protected at the international level. "The silence of the international community regarding the protection of Palestinian prisoners' rights worsens the situation and leads to the collapse of human rights standards," added al-Zegari.
