Sudden strong wind in China overturns tourist boats: 10 people dead
In Guizhou province, located in southwestern China, a sudden strong wind overturned several tourist boats traveling along the river. This was reported by the news agency Reuters.

According to the report, the tragic incident occurred on May 4. As a result, four boats capsized after being unable to withstand the wind’s force. At the time, there were 84 tourists onboard, all of whom fell into the water.

So far, it has been confirmed that 10 people have died. The body of the last deceased person was recovered by rescuers on May 5. The remaining passengers were brought to safety by emergency responders.

Official sources stated that 70 people rescued from the water sought medical attention. Their health conditions are reported to be stable, and there is no life-threatening danger.

About 500 professionally trained rescuers were mobilized for the rescue operation, working day and night with specialized equipment and boats.

Chinese President Xi Jinping immediately ordered the Guizhou provincial government to quickly eliminate the consequences of the incident and to provide full support to the victims using all available resources.

The head of state also instructed to strengthen safety measures in crowded public places and tourist attractions to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

Currently, the Guizhou authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and identify responsible parties. Officials stated that additional safety protocols will be implemented to avoid such incidents in the future.
