Recently, a documentary film titled "Russia. Kremlin. Putin. 25 years" aired, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin showed viewers his personal gym. However, what surprised the viewers even more was the fact that Putin, while exiting his gym, turned off the lights behind him. This small yet meaningful action sparked considerable public interest.

As it turned out, Putin's habit is not accidental. His classmate and close friend Viktor Borisenko mentioned this in an interview with the newspaper "KP-Saint Petersburg". According to him, Vladimir Putin acquired this habit back in his childhood—a result of upbringing and a sense of responsibility ingrained at that time.

Borisenko emphasized that Putin's childhood was spent in communal apartments in Leningrad. In those days, several families lived in a single apartment, and the electricity bill was shared among all. Under such conditions, leaving the lights on when exiting a room caused discontent among neighbors. Therefore, children were taught from an early age to turn off the lights after themselves. Putin retained this habit into his adult life as well.

"Even back then, Vladimir was distinguished by orderliness and thrift in everything he did. He knew perfectly well that even electricity shouldn't be wasted unnecessarily. The fact that he turns off the lights behind him is an expression of his upbringing and memory of the past," Borisenko explained.

Today, this simple yet morally significant habit is perceived as one of the personal qualities of the head of state. Many social media users in Russia called this gesture "a symbol of social responsibility."

The number of people who see Putin's action not only as an example of responsible leadership but also as the act of an ordinary person continues to grow. Energy saving, careful resource management, and orderliness—all of these form a part of the life philosophy instilled in the president since childhood.

Behind this small detail lies a profound meaning: a person's true character is reflected in their daily habits. In Vladimir Putin's example, this habit manifests itself not only on a personal but also on a national level.
