One of the most influential entrepreneurs in the world, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has announced his intention to found a new political movement in the United States. He announced this on his social network X (formerly Twitter), after a sharp disagreement with former President Donald Trump.

The party proposed by Musk is expected to be called the “American Party”. According to him, this political platform aims to express the views of the “80 percent moderate majority” that makes up the majority of the US population.

“In America, there is a real majority of 80 percent, but there is no party that protects their interests. Do you think it’s time to change this?” Musk addressed his subscribers.

In an online survey he conducted, 80.4% of participants supported his idea, while only 19.6% were against it. Commenting on the results, Musk wrote: “The people have spoken. So, a new party is destiny.”

Such statements have caused a lot of discussion on the US political scene. While Musk’s direct entry into politics has surprised some, others see it as a beneficial move for the political balance in the country.

It should be recalled that Musk had previously publicly criticized Trump’s tax bill. In response, Donald Trump called him “crazy.” A heated argument immediately broke out between the two, which escalated into a political confrontation.
