Tensions in the Middle East are escalating rapidly. Former U.S. President and leading 2024 election candidate Donald Trump has once again drawn global attention with his latest remarks regarding Iran. He issued a stern ultimatum to Tehran, leaving the door open for possible military action.
In his address, Trump stated that Iran is “defenseless against an airstrike” and that the country's airspace is fully under American control. According to him, this is a sufficient reason to force Tehran into “unconditional surrender.”
Trump emphasized that the U.S. is firmly determined to make Tehran abandon its nuclear ambitions. “I can't yet say we've won, but there’s been clear progress. In the coming days — perhaps by next week — big things may happen,” he noted.
He also addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to mediate in Middle East negotiations, saying: “I’ve postponed that offer for now.” Trump added that negotiations were still possible, but Iran must choose a realistic path forward.
Analysts believe such statements will only intensify tensions in the region. A direct confrontation between the U.S. and Iran could seriously destabilize the geopolitical balance in the Middle East.
