Another major development on the world political stage — the nearly hour-long phone conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin has become the focus of attention for all international experts and political analysts, reports tass.ru. According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, this was already the sixth dialogue between the two state leaders since Trump was re-elected president.
The main focus of the conversation was the Ukraine issue. According to Ushakov, Putin stated directly that Russia has no intention of abandoning its goals in Ukraine. The president emphasized that Russia will achieve its set objectives and eliminate the reasons that led to the current confrontation. “Russia will not deviate from these goals,” TASS quotes.
At the same time, Putin expressed readiness to continue negotiations with Ukraine. Trump, as usual, raised the issue of the need to stop military actions as soon as possible. However, according to Ushakov, no third round of negotiations or specific dates were discussed during the call. Earlier, Putin had said that such a meeting could take place in Istanbul.
Interestingly, Trump began the conversation by talking about the new flagship law adopted in the US — regarding taxes, migration, and energy reforms. This legislative project aims to increase budget expenditures, reduce tax benefits, and strengthen the country's economy. The document was approved by the Senate the day before and sent to the House of Representatives for further discussion.
US officials have not yet commented on Trump’s conversation with Putin. Official information about the call was first announced by the Russian side at the “Strong Ideas for a New Era” forum. There, the Russian president announced that a conversation with the American leader would take place soon and asked forum participants what he should say to Trump on their behalf.
Trump, in turn, announced on his Truth Social page that the phone conversation was scheduled for 10:00 (17:00 Moscow time).
The political situation is heating up: on July 1, French President Macron also held his first phone conversation in several years with Vladimir Putin. After that, it became known that he also communicated with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
One of the most important news items — on July 4, a phone conversation is scheduled between Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky. According to Financial Times, Reuters, and AFP sources, this conversation may be devoted to the topic of stopping arms supplies to Ukraine and discussing security issues.
Zelensky, for his part, expressed hope to speak with Trump soon, but the exact date depends on the working schedules of both leaders.
In the current geopolitical situation, these phone negotiations may have a serious impact on international relations and security issues. Experts around the world are keenly watching how new negotiations, decisions, and agreements between Russia, the US, and Ukraine will take shape. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
