Trump and Zelensky's Conversation: Hope and Concern After Russia's Attack
US President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation on Friday. This conversation came after one of the strongest air strikes launched by Russia on Kyiv and other major cities since the beginning of the war. In just one day, Russia sent over 550 drones and ballistic missiles toward Ukraine, which caused serious concern across the world.

During the call, Zelenskyy described the conversation as "important and useful." According to him, the leaders of the two countries discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, joint defense production, and bilateral investment cooperation. It is believed that through this, Ukraine is offering new economic approaches to restore the frozen US military aid.

In addition, the two leaders agreed to “increase aerial protection,” which is especially crucial for Ukraine amid continued Russian bombardments. According to Zelenskyy, these attacks represent Moscow’s blunt rejection of diplomacy.

At the same time, Trump made no official statement about the resumption of aid or sending military equipment. It is known that the US Department of Defense suspended the shipment of Patriot air defense systems and other weapons that were in Poland, after a review of America’s own military reserves.

President Trump also spoke about his call with Putin and described it as “very disappointing.” According to him, Putin is not ready to end the war, which further complicates the situation in Ukraine.

On the other hand, the German government announced that it is holding "intensive talks" with the US regarding the purchase of Patriot missiles to be delivered to Ukraine. Berlin's goal is to buy the missiles from the US and send them to Ukraine.

In conclusion, while the US and its European allies are seeking ways to support Ukraine, Russia’s new attacks are making the situation more complex. Ukraine is trying to obtain support from the US through diplomatic and economic channels, but the battlefield reality affects the fate of thousands of people each day.
