Why did Trump choose Alaska to meet with Putin?

Why did Trump choose Alaska to meet with Putin?

Dear friends, today is August 9. The final deadline that Donald Trump gave Putin to stop the war has expired. We promised to remind you that the deadline has ended. As we predicted in that video, no sanctions against Russia were introduced. But Trump agreed to meet with Putin. Zelensky may also attend this meeting. The two presidents will meet in Alaska, which the United States once bought from Russia. This meeting could end the war.

Why Alaska?

So, Trump and Putin will meet on August 15 in Alaska. Judging by the fact that Trump was the first to announce it, he himself chose the meeting place. Earlier, during a meeting with the president of the UAE, the Russian president called that country “a convenient place to meet Trump.” As you may recall, Ukraine and Russia held their first prisoner exchange in that country. However, Russia does not seem to be in a strong position in the negotiations, because the meeting will take place not in the UAE, as Putin wanted, but in Alaska, as Trump wanted.

It is clear why the Americans chose Alaska for the meeting. First, it is a state located on the border between the two countries. Second, the Americans apparently want to remind Putin that their ancestors bought Alaska from Russia.

By the way, you can see on the map that Trump did not choose Alaska just to be closer to him. Trump will fly from the far edge of America over Canadian airspace to reach Alaska. Putin will also travel a long way, but Alaska is located right on Russia’s border. For example, from the Russian city of Anadyr to Alaska it is only 360 km. In the Bering Strait, the two countries are separated by just 86 km of water. Therefore, choosing Alaska as the meeting place can be considered a political decision.

Putin and talks

In recent days, one of Vladimir Putin’s actions has drawn attention. He called many heads of state and, for some reason, told them about the details of his meeting with Stephen Witkoff. Putin first called South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, then the presidents of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus, then Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Modi, and told them about the meeting with Trump’s representative. In the meantime, a meeting was also held with the participation of permanent members of the Russian Security Council.

It is interesting why Putin told so many people about his meeting with Witkoff. Given that these countries are important economic partners of Russia, perhaps Putin discussed with them possible secondary sanctions in case he could not reach an agreement with Trump.

Thus, a real opportunity has arisen for our world to move closer to peace. Starting today, we will focus more on this meeting.
