Massive explosions have occurred in Russia’s Komi Republic. According to reports, the attack was carried out by Ukraine’s Armed Forces, targeting the local oil refinery in the city of Ukhta.
This incident could mark the first direct strike by Ukraine on a republic within Russia’s territory. The Komi Republic is located about 2,000 kilometers from Ukraine.
The blasts were so powerful that they were heard in settlements surrounding the refinery. Following the explosions, mobile internet and communication services in the area were completely shut down.
Russian special services are currently operating near the refinery, with access to the site strictly controlled.
The Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces confirmed the strike on the Ukhta oil refinery, calling it another blow to Russia’s strategic infrastructure.
