The city of Gaza has been under continuous airstrikes for three days. According to the civil defense controlled by Hamas, explosions in the Zeitun and Sabra districts destroyed many homes, and retrieving the dead and wounded has become impossible due to ongoing destruction.
The United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, Canada, and Japan stated that “famine is occurring in Gaza” and called for “clear and sustained measures” to deliver aid quickly. Israel denies the existence of famine and accuses UN agencies of being slow in bringing aid across the border.
The World Health Organization is asking Israel to allow the supply of medicines to medical facilities in Gaza. According to the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours, 100 people have died, including 31 civilians at aid points, and five people have died from starvation.
Israel’s war cabinet has approved a plan to capture Gaza City. Prime Minister Netanyahu has promised to destroy “two remaining strongholds” of Hamas and open corridors for aid delivery.
On August 8, the Israeli army confirmed a strike on Al Jazeera television journalists. International organizations are demanding that Israel provide evidence justifying this attack. Israel continues to assert that strikes are carried out only against “members of terrorist groups.”
