People around Zelensky: no progress at the summit, the situation is very strange...

Those around Volodymyr Zelensky believe that no progress was achieved based on the results of the summit between U.S. and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Financial Times correspondent Christopher Miller, citing sources close to the President of Ukraine.

According to an unnamed aide to the President of Ukraine, the American side has so far not contacted Zelensky. It was reported that he called the situation “very strange.” Another interlocutor close to the Ukrainian leader described the meeting in Alaska as “insignificant.”

At the same time, Trump himself said at the press conference that he would soon call Zelensky and convey the results of the summit. He also said that he would contact NATO representatives and noted the following about this: “I will soon call NATO representatives. I will call a number of people whom I consider appropriate. I will, of course, call President Zelensky and inform him about today’s meeting,” he said.

For reference, Trump and Putin met on August 15 in Alaska; in the end there was no agreement. The presidents held negotiations at the military base in Anchorage, then came out to the press representatives and read out their statements. Afterwards, the presidents left the hall without answering journalists’ questions.
