An astonishing medical case was recorded in Russia. In the city of Nizhny Novgorod, a man survived despite a massive 12-centimeter nail penetrating his head. Doctors described this incident as a real miracle.
According to reports, the operation was carried out under the leadership of the head of the neurosurgery department, Alexander Lavrenyuk, and experienced doctor Pavel Smirnov. The surgery lasted more than three hours, and the specialists managed to carefully remove the nail from the patient’s skull.
After the operation, the patient’s condition was severe. He was treated in the hospital for a total of 53 days, of which 40 days he spent in intensive care in a coma. Thanks to the persistent efforts of the doctors and long-term resuscitation measures, the man was brought back to life.
At present, the patient is undergoing rehabilitation. According to preliminary information, his physical condition is stable, and he is gradually returning to everyday life. Doctors consider this case not only a medical success but also a vivid example of strong will and the struggle for life.
Specialists emphasize that the penetration of a solid object such as a nail through the skull in most cases leads to death. However, in this case, an unexpected miracle happened — vital organs were not damaged, and the professional work of the surgeons saved the patient’s life.
Naturally, this case may remain a unique example not only in Russia but also in the history of world medicine.
