On the night of August 21, the international arena witnessed another tragic event. Russian armed forces launched large-scale combined attacks on Ukrainian territory using various types of missiles and drones. This was reported by several local and international outlets, including RBC-Ukraine.
According to reports, explosions were heard late at night and closer to midnight in the northern and central regions of the country. This caused alarm and fear among the population.
Information indicates that the Russian army targeted several strategic sites in Ukraine. Specifically, strikes were reported in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and other regions. So far, no official data on casualties or injuries has been released.
Russian media stated that Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles, as well as Shahed-type drones, were actively used in the attacks. In addition, strategic missile-carrying bombers Tu-95MS and Tu-160 launched long-range Kh-101 cruise missiles.
Some sources claim that Zircon missiles fired from the Black Sea hit an infrastructure facility in the Sumy region. However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
It was also reported that in the city of Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk region, a UAV struck a gas compressor station, causing a large fire. This shows that the attacks targeted not only military, but also economic and civilian facilities.
Experts emphasize that such large-scale strikes may further escalate the war situation in Ukraine. For now, both sides have provided limited official statements, but discussions around the incident are intensifying in global media.
