Ukrainian President Zelensky accused Russia of trying to halt peace talks and prolong the war. According to him, Moscow avoids any meetings, while Ukraine is ready for them. US President Donald Trump is attempting to bring the two leaders to a meeting.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in turn, accused Zelensky of rejecting all proposals. According to him, the agenda for holding a meeting is not yet ready. At the same time, Lavrov stressed that Ukraine must abandon its NATO membership ambitions.
Trump first met with Putin himself, and then with Zelensky and European leaders. He said that stopping this war is one of the most difficult processes. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that security guarantees for Ukraine are being developed together with Western countries.
EU diplomat Kaja Kallas called Russia’s demand for Ukraine to make territorial concessions a “trap.” According to her, Russia itself is not ready to make any concessions and remains the aggressor.
Meanwhile, Russia carried out one of its most powerful attacks on Ukraine. In one night, 574 drones and 40 missiles were launched. In response, Ukraine struck an oil pumping station on Russian territory, which temporarily halted oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia.
