Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan asked Trump for help for Gaza’s children

Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan addressed a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump. She asked Melania to contact Israel’s prime minister and discuss the situation of children in Gaza.

In her letter, Emine Erdoğan said she was inspired by Melania Trump’s recent message to Vladimir Putin about Russian and Ukrainian children. In her view, the same attention is also necessary for Gaza’s children.

In the letter, Emine Erdoğan emphasized: “I believe that the attention you showed to 648 Ukrainian children will also be extended to Gaza.” She also noted that the Palestinian issue is increasingly recognized worldwide.

In recent days, international organizations have stated that hunger in Gaza has officially reached famine levels. Experts warn that the situation could worsen further, which would increase pressure on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected these reports, saying: “Israel does not cause hunger, but rather prevents it.” The war in Gaza began after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and it is reported that more than 62,000 Palestinians have been killed so far.
