The United States of America has approved another major deal to supply modern weapons to Ukraine. According to official data, Washington has authorized Kyiv’s plan to purchase 3,350 long-range Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles worth $850 million.
Sources state that these weapons will be delivered to Ukraine in approximately six weeks. Notably, the primary financing of the deal has been provided by European countries. This demonstrates the further strengthening of the West’s military and political support for Ukraine.
According to reports, ERAM missiles are capable of accurately striking targets at a range of 150 to 280 miles (240–450 kilometers). Experts emphasize that they could provide Ukraine’s armed forces with a strategic advantage on the front line.
However, the use of these weapons will directly depend on authorization from the Pentagon. US officials told "The Wall Street Journal" that Kyiv must coordinate each operation with Washington.
Thus, Ukraine’s military potential is expected to grow even further. At the same time, experts believe that the restrictions and conditions set by the United States may to some extent limit Kyiv’s independent actions.
