Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that the country has imposed strict restrictions on sea and air traffic with Israel.
According to him, Israeli ships will no longer be allowed to enter Turkish ports. Turkish ships are also banned from using Israeli ports. Container ships carrying weapons to Israel will not be allowed to enter Turkish territory at all.
Turkey accuses Israel of causing destruction in Gaza and calls on the international community to take measures against it. Earlier this year, Ankara also halted all trade relations with Israel.
Turkish port authorities have recently begun requiring agents to confirm that ships are not linked to Israel and are not carrying dangerous cargo bound for the country.
Fidan also stated that Turkey is ready to send air aid to Gaza. According to him, planes are already prepared, and permission from regional authorities is awaited. The Israeli government did not comment on these statements.
