The White House shared a photo of Trump working at McDonald’s to celebrate Labor Day
In anticipation of the upcoming Labor Day, the White House congratulated Americans and shared an interesting photo of U.S. President Donald Trump serving customers at a McDonald’s restaurant.
In the photo, Trump is wearing a white shirt and a red tie with a mesh apron over it, waving to car drivers through the drive-thru window. This image shows that he can act as an “ordinary person” even among common people and in fast-food restaurants.
The photo appeared after Trump, still a presidential candidate in October 2024, tried working at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania. According to Fox News, Trump visited a McDonald’s in the city of Fisterville, put on an apron, prepared several servings of French fries, and also placed several orders for restaurant guests at his own expense.
Trump stayed in the restaurant for about half an hour, noted that he enjoyed the work process, and did not rule out trying similar experiences again in the future. This event also demonstrates the president’s effort to show a simple and approachable image to the public.
Labor Day in the United States is celebrated annually on the first Monday in September. The holiday was first held on September 5, 1882, in New York, with about 10,000 workers participating in a parade. In 1887, the state of Oregon officially declared the first Monday in September a day off, and seven years later, the U.S. Congress passed a law giving Labor Day the status of a national holiday.
Thus, Trump’s work at McDonald’s became not only his personal experience but also an interesting and simple way for Americans to celebrate Labor Day. It also serves as an example of the president’s effort to maintain close contact with the people and test himself in a public setting.
