Britain provided billions in aid to Ukraine from Russian assets

UK Defence Secretary John Healy made an important statement during his visit to Kyiv. According to him, the London government provided significant military aid to Ukraine through the use of frozen Russian assets.

According to information released on Wednesday, September 3rd, the funds seized from the Russian Federation were used to purchase weapons and military equipment for Ukraine. The amount of funds exceeded one billion pounds sterling. At the expense of these funds, contracts are concluded in various spheres, and important resources are supplied to the Kyiv army.

According to the website of the UK government, these funds allowed Ukraine to supply hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles, and spare parts for weapons. New agreements were also signed on the maintenance and repair of equipment and military vehicles.

Over the past 50 days, Ukraine has received a huge amount of aid from Britain. Specifically:

- 4.7 million ammunition;

- more than 60 thousand artillery shells;

- modern rockets and rocket systems;

- more than 2.5 thousand drones;

- more than 200 electronic warfare systems;

- 100 types of light weapons;

- More than 30 units of special equipment and additional equipment for air defense were delivered.

Experts emphasize that such assistance will significantly increase Ukraine's defense capabilities. Britain, in turn, continues to exert sharp political and economic pressure on Russia.
