The Israeli army has ordered residents of Gaza City to leave for the south, to a designated area near Khan Yunis. Officials call this area a “humanitarian zone,” promising food and medical aid.
Netanyahu said Gaza is a Hamas stronghold and capturing it is necessary. The military controls much of the city, forcing hundreds of thousands to relocate once more.
Local health authorities report that over 64,000 Palestinians have died since the war began. The city and surrounding areas are in ruins, and most residents face a severe humanitarian crisis.
Of the 251 hostages held by Hamas, only some are known to be alive. Netanyahu said the war will not end until all hostages are freed and Hamas is disarmed. Negotiations have so far yielded no results.
