The Consulate General in Kazan has issued an official statement stating that an Uzbek citizen will be held in a temporary detention center in Kazan for 45 days.
In a video circulating on social networks, it was noted that a citizen of Uzbekistan "has been held in a temporary detention facility for foreign citizens in Kazan for 45 days" and is asking for help in returning to his homeland. As a result of the investigation, it was established that this person is a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan M.A. (born in 1983).
On August 2, 2025, administrative measures were taken against M.A. under part 1.1 of Article 18.8 ("Violation of the stay regime in the country") of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Russian Federation, and a decision was made on his forced deportation from the territory of Russia. It was also established that M.A. was held liable under the same article on July 11, 2025.
The document was sent for examination due to the fact that the seals on the citizen's passport for travel abroad contained forged marks about crossing the Russian state border. This allowed for a full investigation of the legal and security aspects of the incident.
On September 2, 2025, the Department of Internal Migration of the Saratov Region submitted a request to the Consulate General for the issuance of a certificate of return to Uzbekistan for M.A. The request was promptly resolved positively by the Consulate. Currently, a representative of the internal migration department of the Saratov region is expected to make a business trip to Kazan.
The Consulate General in Kazan has taken this issue under its control and continues to be active in taking all necessary measures. This process is important from the point of view of protecting the rights of citizens, providing effective consular assistance, and observing international law.
