According to the Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 28 kilometers southeast of the city of Nabire. Approximately 43,800 people live in this city. Seismologists noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers from the Earth's surface.
Official information about the victims of the earthquake has not yet been released. At the same time, there are reports that local residents felt a strong tremor, and some people left their homes and moved to safer places.
