Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced that power will not be transferred to the radical movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the TASS agency. According to Abbas, the Palestinian national administration emphasized that Hamas has no claims to power in the Gaza Strip and is not aligned with their decisions.
Speaking at the international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Middle East issue at the UN headquarters in New York, Abbas emphasized the importance of considering the legitimate authority of the Palestinian National Authority in Gaza and other regions. According to him, Hamas, like other groups, must surrender their weapons and express their positions only in accordance with the legally adopted Palestinian security forces.
According to Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian National Authority is striving to create such an order, that is, they aim to create a single state and fully control all its security systems. Abbas believes that only a state based on law and governed peacefully can contribute to ensuring human rights and resolving conflicts in the region.
