UN reimposes sanctions against Iran

According to Reuters sources, the UN Security Council did not adopt the resolution proposed by Russia and China to extend the nuclear deal with Iran. This draft resolution envisaged delaying the reinstatement of sanctions against Iran for six months.

The United Kingdom’s permanent representative to the UN stated that the sanctions against Iran will come back into force by the end of this week.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on the UN Security Council chairman to declare today’s decision “illegal.”
