Vinicius Junior won in court and defended his brand

Vinicius Junior won the court case and protected his brand

One of the leaders of the Brazil national team and the star of Real Madrid club, Vinicius Junior, won his rights in the latest court case.

According to information, a businessman from La Coruña registered a brand with the footballer's name in 2018. However, Vinicius Junior had already registered the trademark "Vinicius Jr" in 2017. Therefore, the footballer applied to the court to protect his rights.

As stated by the Sport.es website, the accused businessman argued in his defense that "at that time Vinicius was not well known to the general public and this name was not related to the footballer."

However, the court found the businessman's claim unfounded. Interestingly, in 2023 he also tried to sue the footballer, linking his brand to the history of the Roman Empire and his personal family heritage. Yet, the court rejected his reasons at that time as well.

Ultimately, the courts of La Coruña and Provincial decided to satisfy the claim filed by Vinicius Junior. Thus, the businessman's registration of the brand in his name was canceled and he was ordered to pay the court costs.

In this way, Vinicius Junior achieved an important victory not only on the field but also in the legal arena. His name and brand are now officially established as the footballer's personal rights.

This decision is of great importance for the athlete, because in modern football, along with results on the field, personal brand also holds great value. Vinicius's successful performances in recent years and global recognition have made his brand even more valuable.
