The White House revealed details of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington. The White House reported this on its social media page.
The statement said that Netanyahu, in a phone conversation with Qatari Prime Minister Muhammad Abdel Rahman Al-Thani, apologized for the missile attack carried out in Doha. He also noted that Israel targeted the Hamas leadership and expressed regret for violating Qatar’s sovereignty, promising that such attacks would not happen again.
The Qatari Prime Minister, in turn, welcomed these assurances and stated his readiness to continue contributing to regional security and stability in Doha.
Trump, in turn, expressed his desire to improve Israel-Qatar relations after years of disagreements and misunderstandings. The White House statement noted that Netanyahu and Al-Thani accepted Trump’s proposal to create a trilateral mechanism to strengthen communication, resolve disagreements, and prevent threats.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the U.S. plan to end the war in Gaza and improve security in the Middle East.
