In New Zealand, the production of non-alcoholic wine for cats and dogs has been launched, where lemon balm is considered the main ingredient to lift the mood, Kyodo agency reports.
The company Muttley’s Estate offers wines under names such as "Sovinon Lai" and "Murmur Noir." The drinks are successful with both cats and dogs. At present, the wines are sold only in New Zealand at $7.61 for a 150 ml bottle, but negotiations are underway to sell them in Australia and the United States.
According to experts, this product is especially useful when pets are afraid of loud noises or thunderstorms. At the same time, it also creates an opportunity for “double relaxation” for humans: after a stressful day at work, people can calm themselves with a glass of wine, and now their pets can join them too.
Most manufacturers use bone broth when making drinks for four-legged friends, but Muttley’s Estate chose lemon balm. This plant makes cats joyful and playful, while helping dogs to relax.
The new invention not only improves the mood of animals but also provides owners with the opportunity to rest even closer together with them.
