US Female Soldiers Express Concern

US military women are opposing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s statement to “return to the male standard” for combat roles. They say standards have always been the same for men and women.

Elisa Cardnell, a former Navy service member, emphasized that women pass all tests equally. In some roles, gender and age do not matter; everyone takes the same test.

Hegseth believes standards for women were lowered and wants to restore them. Some female veterans are worried this decision could hinder women’s progress in military roles.

Some Republicans support Hegseth, saying high standards and accountability are important for military safety.
