U.S. President Donald Trump demanded Israel to stop the bombings after Hamas agreed to release hostages and accept some conditions of his peace plan. Nevertheless, airstrikes continued in Gaza, killing several people.
European leaders described this situation as “an opportunity for peace.” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and French President Emmanuel Macron stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages.
The United Kingdom, Spain, and Ireland also supported Trump’s initiative. They stated that fighting must stop, humanitarian aid should be delivered, and a fair solution for the Palestinian people must be found.
Canada and Australia also reacted positively to the plan. They called on all parties to take practical steps and emphasized the necessity of achieving lasting peace based on a two-state solution.
