UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer spoke about visas during his visit to India. He said there will be no new visa routes for Indian workers and students.
Starmer is promoting the trade deal signed with India in July. The deal allows cheaper exports of UK cars and whisky to India, and Indian textiles and jewellery to the UK.
The Prime Minister stressed that visas are not part of the trade deal. He said he wants to attract “top talent,” but no new visa routes from India will be opened.
During his visit to India, Starmer will focus on developing business and cultural cooperation.
