The negotiations between Israel and Hamas, which are continuing in Egypt, are showing positive results — the sides may reach an agreement within the next two days. This was reported by The Times of Israel, citing a Palestinian source.
According to the information, the discussions involve the release of 48 hostages in exchange for about 2000 Palestinian prisoners. In addition, the issue of the partial withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip is also at the center of talks.
At the next stages of the negotiations, it is planned to discuss the disarmament of Hamas and the governance of Gaza after the war.
According to an Israeli source who spoke to Al Arabiya TV channel, “the sides are cautiously approaching an agreement on the first stage of the plan,” while U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly putting pressure on the negotiators to accelerate progress.
According to Sky News Arabia, Washington’s active involvement in the process is linked to “positive signals” received from Qatar and Egypt. The source added that “there are clear signs that the negotiations have entered their final phase.”
